About Me

Just another day at the office
The Virtual Entrepreneur is authored by Neil Drori to provide the small business community with insight, guidance and commentary on doing business in the virtual world of the internet.
Neil’s background spans a thirty year history in small business development. During this period, he and his partners took a small business idea and grew it into an international operation with locations in seventeen countries, generating 8 digit revenues.
His area of direct expertise is sales and marketing so what makes him competent to provide help on this subject?
Over his business history dating back to the mid 70’s, he has been involved in several periods of re-invention, transforming his business model from that of a local manufacturer to that of an international service provider by taking advantage of ever expanding breakthroughs in technology.
He has designed and deployed proprietary software for both internal use and for sale. Most recently, he conceived and developed an integrated system for off shore production of custom designed products for North American clients. This project involved data transfer technologies, proprietary software and web based interfaces.
Perhaps most importantly, Neil became a true “Road Warrior”, traveling almost 200 days a year. Utilizing various technologies, he conducted business seamlessly with no fixed location, no desk and no paper files. He came to realize that in today’s world, space and time are of no consequence and it is possible to operate a successful business entirely out of a laptop.
Since his retirement in 2006, Neil has become a full time sailor and with his wife and dog, he has cruised from western Florida to the Bahamas where he now lives on his 40 foot sailing catamaran. Along the way, he has met many people with a wealth of knowledge in a vast assortment of specialties. Most of these people have two things in common:
(1) They would love to turn their experience into a business.
(2) They don’t know how or are simply afraid to use technology to their advantage.
This blog is dedicated to those people.

Hello,
I stumbled upon your Web site via a comment you left on CNN.com – Big Tech – Apple’s Animal Farm. I am currently a college student graduating in a semester and am highly interested in small business development. Thanks for your blog.
